TeXCCChess was built by Claude Code, Anthropic’s agentic coding tool, powered by Claude Opus 4.6. The “CC” in the name stands for Claude Code (and if you squint, an allusion to the Chaos Computer Club). A second variant was independently built by Codex CLI (powered by GPT-5.2), but it is out of the scope of this post (I will cover it in a future post, along with engines in other languages).
